Morgan Freeman and his wife of 24 years, Myrna Colley-Lee, have filed for divorce. The couple have been separated since December 2007.

The actor’s law confirmed the news to Access Hollywood, saying that the couple “are involved in a divorce action and, for legal and practical purposes, have been separated since December of 2007.”

The story was most likely broken after Morgan was seriously injured in a car accident in Mississippi. He was traveling with a passenger, Demaris Meyer, who is apparently a partner in the restaurant he owns.
